Aloha!!
Here begins the final post of the Hawaii adventure!! One of the evenings we had the privilege of being able to attend a Hawaiian luau!!! It was an experience that you can not find just anywhere… we had so much fun learning about their culture, trying their food, and watching them tell stories through their dancing.
We ate interesting food (to say the least) They made pig for us underground, and dug it up when it was time to eat! Octopus was on the menu. Nice to say I tried it…and will never try it again!
There were people there that weaved palm leaves into flowers, fish, baskets, hats and other shapes. It was fun to watch this unique art being created right in front of you.
The dancing was incredible. It was neat to see this tradition continuing on through the generations and the amazing talent and pride these dancers had was unique and apparent.
Our family also went on the “Road to Hana.” This journey is a long and winding road that leads to the town of Hana. It is an all day adventure, while the road is only around 38 miles, it is curvy and you stop many times along the way to see the beautiful waterfalls and eat at the different food stands along the way!
Some waterfalls were right along the road and easy to see and access, while others were a little more dangerous to get to. But once you got there it was totally worth it!!!

Once we made it to Hana we visited a black sand beach!!
It was a fun adventure where we were able to see MANY of God’s amazing creations.
I wish I could have taken everyone on this trip with me, because I feel like the pictures and my descriptions don’t do even touch on how amazing the Hawaiian Islands really are!
